Channeling Elvis
Posting from: Tucson, AZ
Listening to: Elvis Presley, Viva Las Vegas
I love Elvis movies.
There's always at least a guitar handy if not a full band when Elvis breaks out into song be he in Las Vegas or stranded on a Hawaiian island looking for the keys to his helicopter. And speaking of handy things, there's always a helicopter or airplane handy whenever he needs one.
Orphans are always saved, lost children returned to their parents, and spoiled rich girls and incorrigible female IRS agents reformed with minor tussles but never having to carry out the over-the-knee spanking he threatens them with. The girl who goes off to look for a rich man and falls in love with poor Elvis finds out after agreeing to marry him that he is rich after all. He always gets the boat or car finished just in time for the race and then goes on to win in spectacular fashion and get the girl, or not quite win but the girl loves him anyway. Things go wrong along the way in every movie but he always comes through with flying colors and, whether it's Ann Margaret, Shelly Fabares or Nancy Sinatra, he always gets the girl except in that one movie where he didn't want a girl and in that other movie where he kicked the bucket. And even when he kicked the bucket, he went out on a good note.
Things always work out in the end.
I've been working so hard toward something for a few years now. I am so close I can taste it. I want it so badly. I have done everything I possibly can up to now to make it happen. And if this one thing happens, I will make everything else that needs to follow to get the rest of the way to the goal go as it should.
But right now everything is out of my hands. There is nothing I know of that I can do to get over this last hurdle. All I can do is sit here and channel Elvis.
I'm trying to channel the Elvis for whom everything works out in the end without dying.

Heres to hoping that everything turns out the way you want! What ever it is that you are working towards, may it work in your favor and soon.
