Enjoy Every Sandwich

An individualist, archaphobic, libertarian (reformed former partyarch), possibly-armed, ifeminist, engineer, dog lover, INTJ, space nut, defender of misrepresented native species, atheist Flying Spaghetti Monsterist wire-haired man-goblin enjoying every sandwich while promoting liberty and neighborliness. Warren Zevon Song of the Day

Posting from: Tucson, AZ

Today is a day I have waited for a long, long, long time. Finally and at last, all of Warren Zevon's final public appearance- a David Letterman show with Warren as the only guest and performer- is available on that most glorious of all websites, YouTube.

If you are a Warren Zevon fan, you may want to just watch it all in order:
Part 1- David's interview with Warren
Part 2- More of David's interview with Warren and the origin of the name of this blog, plus Warren's performance of Mutineer
Part 3- Warren performs Genius
Part 4- Warren performs Roland, The Headless Thompson Gunner

However, today's Warren Zevon Song of the Day is something I'm pretty sure I've never featured on this blog before. It is the title track from Warren Zevon's second "best of" album entitled Genius. It just oozes with the pain and bitterness of being duped by a cruel love interest. I can honestly say that I never pictured Albert Einstein making out like Charlie Sheen before I heard this song. Now you, too, can enjoy the brilliance of this great American songwriter and king of the song noir, complete with a four-piece string section which beautifully highlights his classical music background. He truly was a genius.
