Strange Dreams
Posting from: Tucson, AZ
Very stressful periods of my life are usually accompanied by a lot of dream activity. Turns out this quitting my job and moving thing is very stressful.
I had a dream about a charcoal drawing I was in real life almost finished with. In the dream, it was barely done at all. I kept working on one tiny area of it to get each and every detail exactly right. My art teacher/friend was encouraging me to not focus so narrowly on that one little area. This past Sunday, when I went for my real life lesson I was relieved to see that it was mostly done. I finished it and framed it after the lesson.
I had another dream wherein there was a big meetup in Montana. Instead of the usual freedom-loving folks being there, though, there were all these people from my distant past. My best friend from high school was wondering what they hell she and the others were there for.
One night, I had the best sex dream of my entire life. Unfortunately, this was the morning of my 7 am dental appointment, and the alarm rudely interrupted it at 4:30 am. Even more tragically, I can't remember any of the details of the dream!
Last night I had the strangest dreams yet. The first one involved an ex-boyfriend. It suddenly occurred to me as I was moving out of the house that I should let him know what was going on. After all, in this dream he lived there. Suddenly I started wondering why I hadn't thought of that sooner, and I realized he was hardly ever there. I went down the hall to his room and had a chat with him about how he could stay there as long as he wanted or until the house sold, whichever came first. Then his girlfriend showed up, and I felt really uncomfortable because I was talking to him in his room. So I tried to excuse myself and wound up doing so in a horribly awkward way which made it seem like something was going on when nothing was. He acted like it was no big deal that we were doing something (even though we weren't!) as she was just one of his many women and they have an open relationship and blah blah blah. I don't know when or how that dream ended, but before I woke up I had a second one.
I was driving up to Montana with a friend who lived up there. When we got there, I realized for some reason I needed to be back in Arizona in a couple of days. Instead of going to my new home, my dog and I stayed in a pretty ritzy hotel in this town that does not exist in real life. The next day I went to drive home. My dog was not with me, but this did not seem amiss. I was on a freeway trying to negotiate some interchange and came upon an accident. I kept driving forward while turning this way and that and slowing down as I realized there were people scattered across the entire width of the road. Finally, I stopped just short of one of the accident victims' hands while the rescue personnel were all gesturing at me and yelling at me to stop. A path was eventually cleared for cars to go through, but when I went through it, I took a wrong turn onto a railroad track. Only now I was no longer in my car, but rather on foot. I got off the railroad track as quickly as possible only to find myself sneaking through someone's backyard in a really lush, rich neighborhood. I quickly made my way out to the street and tried to get where I was going on foot. I don't know where I was going, but I definitely had a destination in mind. Then at some point, I realized I could not remember where I parked my car.
I can't wait to get settled in up in Montana. I would like to start having a decent night's sleep again.

Maybe there is something in the air. My dreams have taken a strange turn recently, too.
